The ESP LTD Viper-10 guitar is a budget-oriented version of ESP's well-known guitars made popular by artists like Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Jeff Hanneman (Slayer), and George Lynch (Dokken). This double-cutaway guitar has a 24-fret fingerboard, two humbucker pickups, master volume and tone controls, 3-way pickup selector toggle switch, and adjustable bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

I bought one for my grandson. After some minor set-up, I took it to the gig for a test run. I am not exagerating when I say this guitar chewed up my bandmate's 800 dollar Gibson Les Paul Studio. Amazing guitar for the price! So I ordered another one for me. I have been a pro for over 30 years and if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for the beginner on your list. Nicely done ESP!

.PICKED THIS UP IN A SECOND HAND STORE AND WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED! I'M NOT GOING TO GO ON AND ON ABOUT THIS GUITAR BUT THIS IS A METAL PLAYERS DREAM! THIS IS A VERY SOLID AND SOMEWHAT HEAVY GUITAR, YOU KNOW WHEN SOMETHING FEELS GREAT IN YOUR HANDS AND SOUNDS GREAT COMING OUT OF THE AMP. OH BY THE WAY STAY AWAY FROM THE DEAN Z X, I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY.

.I've had this for a year and the jack is broken and it does not have a great sound... I bought this as an "improvement" to another one I had... It was not an improvement.

.Never thought I would buy a guitar at this price but with a guaranty figured it was worth a shot. From the first practice, I have been getting compliments from my bandmates. Solid sound, stays in tune and gives me that nice early 60's reverb slap sound I am looking for. So Far I Can't find any negatives.
