Product Description

The ESP LTD F-415FM 5-string bass guitar has neck-thru body construction for no neck movement, added sustain, and tonal clarity. The 5-piece maple-walnut neck features an extra-thin U-contour, allowing quick and easy access to all of the 5-string bass's 24 XJ frets.

The F-415FM's rosewood fingerboard accentuates mid and lower frequencies for a rich, warm tone-a perfect complement for any rock, or rhythm and blues setting. The EMG active pickups produce a tone that is clear, articulate, and able to cut through even the busies mixes.

With its breathtaking flamed maple top, black nickel hardware, beautiful see-thru black finish, and sleek black pickups, this ESP LTD bass will keep you looking good as well as sounding good.

Overall, this bass is hard to beat. The only thing I've played that's better are high-end basses like Tobias and Spector, but they cost 3-5 times more. ESP has really hit one out of the park with the F-415fm. I'm not sure why it's under the LTD brand rather than straight up ESP. Don't let the LTD shake your confidence. This is a solid bass and a good buy. If it were lost/stolen I would definately replace it. The only thing that compares in quality and price would be an Ibanez SRT805dx. I'm enjoying the ESP sound/feel and my ESP using bandmates think it's a nice addition too.
This bass has it all. The controls are well placed and function well. The neck is sleek and fast; neck-thru really helps. EMG pickups and EQ! Need I say more?

My only complaint is just one of personal preference: I prefer medium fretwire to XJ fretwire. Comes from a long history of playing SoundGear/Ibanez, Hohner, Spector, and the like. I'm getting used to the larger frets, but I still prefer medium size.
ESP used quality woods, electronics, and hardware to build this bass. I have played it for almost a year with no issues (once I had the action set up properly). It sounds great and feels just as good in your hands. Mahogony body makes it a bit heavy (espcially compared to basswood bodies), but I like the deeper tone I get. The finish is stellar. Beautiful bass.
Great price for such a quality instrument.

.Has a great sound, electronics are of good quality. EQ shapes sound well. Fair amount of fret buzz, needs a little adjustment but overall the action is good. Regardless of the fact that it has a fllamed maple, it looks solid black in anything less than direct light. This is my second instrument from ESP
, the other being a flyng v250. I could say almost the exact same review when i received it. IMHO esp make a pretty good...not great.....but reasonably good instrument for the price. I would buy it again if i needed another bass.

.my first two bass guitars happened to be ibanez and a close friend of mine suggest I look into ESP when i first started talking about getting a 5 string. This is the bass I ended up going with after doing a ton of research. At the time this thing was fairly new and had no reviews anywhere on it. After a couple of years I can tell you this is the bass I always reach for. Its loud, its mean, its tone is completely unearthly. I pair this bad boy with dark glass b7k. This thing is my main stay and my only complaint is sometimes when my back is bothering me the weight gets to me a little bit but nothing to serious. the weight actually adds to the feeling that its a weapon of mass destruction.

.This ia the most amazing piece of equipment i have ever put in my hands! It is great for metal especially in drop B tuning. I will never sell this thing. i've had it for almost a year and it has yet to disappoint me
ESP LTD F-415FM Flame Maple 5-String Electric Bass Guitar See-Thru Black
.This was an upgrade from my ibanez. I can not even compare the two. The sound is unreal. At first I was a little surprised at how black the see thru black really is but it's such a stunning black and when the light hits it you get these notes of red and brown from the dye and wood showing thru.the dark hardware is just icing on the cake. I was going to get the next bottom down bt the addition of EMG actives and neck thru sold me. This thing looks like its from the void and sounds like a beast.
ESP LTD F-415FM Flame Maple 5-String Electric Bass Guitar See-Thru Black
.this thing is AWESOME!! neck thru, 5 string, mahogany, 24 frets, 3 band EQ, Grover tuners, and EMGs are just amaxing. the neck thru makes the sustain last forever. when i put it in a drop tuning none of the other strings go sharp cuz the neck is so strong. i can tell a huge difference in wood compared to my basswood ibanez. its heavier and the tone is just so much better. access to the 24th fret is a little harder compared to my ibanez. the neck joint on this thing is at the 19th and on my ibanez is on the 20th. (not a big difference but its noticable) the EQ is so freakin cool!! i can anything from a mid range growl to a nice round slap sound. and it's the EMG EQ so that just makes it so much better. the EMGs are sooo clear. the B and E are so solid compared to my ibanez. it is really addicting. the inlays are beautiful. mine are like a blue, green, white swirl.the grover tuners are freakin sweet, like every thing else. when i recieved it there was a little scuff at the top of the headstock from shipping, and the fretboard is a little dirty. i hope some polish will take care of that. this bass is really dark. the pictures make it look kinda gray. its not gray, i wish it was. i don't really know what color it is. its sometimes black, magentaish, kinda brown, and you can sometimes see the mahogany shine through in the sunlight. its really stunning. i wish there was a little more space in the pickup cavity so i can hide a pick between the pickups and the body. the cons don't really bother me because i bought it during a sale and i got it 15% off. i love this bass, buy it, you won't regret it.
