These are second only to the D'Andrea Pro Plec for jazz. They're a tad bit brighter than the Pro Plec because the texture gives them a slight rasp, so the release doesn't have the glass-like smoothness of the D'Andrea. They're virtually unbendable, so that makes them fast. The stiffness also makes them a good candidate for beveling with the grinding attachment of a Dremel tool. I either bevel the left and right sides of both front and back, or just the right sides of both front and back (right sides, if the pick points downward). If you bevel just the right sides, you imitate the wear pattern of a well-used pick. The result is a way smoother release, and because you're reducing the gauge only at the edge that contacts the string, you get the sound of a thin pick, but the control of a thicker pick.
