This Fuzz Face isn't your typical fuzz face. In fact, the circuit doesn't really have anything to do with the Fuzz Face, but don't let that disuade you, it's a very good fuzz.

First off, yes it is true bypass, every Fuzz Face is. They've always been that way.

The tone is definitely silicon, very high gain, fat, but with enough brightness to cut through anything. It doesn't clean up like a fuzz face by turning the guitar's volume to 7 or lower, you have to get around 3 for it to clean up some.

But this one is not boomy, and it is quite hard to make it fart out. It's very loud too, way louder than my other 2 fuzz faces, unity gain on the volume is around 9 o clock!

The question is does it sound like Jimi's Red White knobbed Fuzz Face? No one can say for sure, since no one has seen it in 40 + years, but it does sound good.

There is a neat little surprise for those that run a wah first in the chain, this Fuzz Face will work with a wah! That's right, no more highs and high mids that you'd get trying to use a wah first in the chain with a Fuzz Face, this one will give you the entire sweep of the wah, but you might have to turn your guitars volume down a little to really hear it.

Some won't want the full size version, because it doesn't have an LED or Ac Power, and the in jack is on the top left, but this one is a more correct version, and as far as batteries go, you should get at least 6 months on one battery, maybe even a year if you don't constantly use it.

I think Dunlop, more importantly, Jorge Tripps knocked it out of the park with this FF.

.This effect is a replica of Rodger Mayer's custom designed distortion built for Jimi Hendrix in the late 1960's it has not only the look of the mysterious fuzz, it's interaction with the guitar and Vox wah behaves as seen and heard from Jimi's Berkeley concert, Dunlop has done an excellent job on this one. The UK made potentiometers have a larger base giving a fine more linear control, the large chassis keeps distance away from the on/off switch and the control's, minimizing accidental bumping of the controls with the foot. No L.E.Ds have to use your ear's. no power jack as expected. want modern? go with the FFM6 mini it sounds much the same. The idea that Jimi's distortion was a modified Octavio is not a new one, getting one to sound this close to original is remarkable. limited edition a must have.

.the sound i like it right off the get go Dunlop they really in pressed me quite a bit here, it is built quite a bit better then my JDF 2 Fuzz Face which is pretty good
