so i bought this guitar about 5 years ago, it was one of the very first guitars i had ever bought by myself, so there is a little pride in me when i see it. everytime i look at this guitar it holds memories. my first gigs, band, ect ect. now realize that after 5 years anything is going to wear down a little. so straight out of the package into a laney 100 watt. perfect bliss, i insantly fell in love with it. the guitar can give you a wide variety of tones if you know how to rig it and your amp the right way. quality built, after 5 years the only damage done is i had to replace the pickguard and the neck binding is slightly loose. i compared it to a gibson sg standard. the sounding is very alike but the epiphone had a more treble tone to it. its a sweet looking guitar for beginners and experienced alike. it wont dissapoint.
worth every penny

.Very good guitar for the money. Had bought a squire tele and thin long neck did not work with short fat fingers. Anyway got it right trading in the tele, dropped the action and set the pick-up's. Not a set neck but it is what it is. Fun to play and a little hotter sound than the 490 and 498. You'll to very happy with one of these!

.I own a Gibson SG Standard which I play out with and leave in a Jam room that we rent, so I had bought this guitar used for 100 dollars at a music store so I could practice at home on some riffs. I set it up the the way I liked it and it was great the neck was really nice and straight, the action I set at Medium, really good, Stays in Tune with 10 gauge strings, the Feel was great! The pickups had plenty of power, but were Muddy for my taste, just not the sound I was looking for, I play alot of Classic Rock, Zepplin, Queen, Sammy Hagar, that kind of stuff. So I put a set of Gibson pickups (490R Bridge and 498T Neck) (thats what used to come in older Gibsons) and I was blown away. Now granted the Gibson SG Quality is far superior, but after installing those pickups in the EE-Epiphone-e G-310 I have to admit to you, as far as the sound, I can't tell the difference. If you plan on buying this guitar, it's well worth the price even brand new. Depending on your type of music, depends on your upgrades. Good Luck!!

.This is my first Epi, first SG, and I am impressed. Bought it sight unseen off eBay. It arrived in good shape, almost set-up. The "white" is more cream, like everyone says, I think it looks good. This guitar was put together well, no sharp edges, nice strings, even finish-all same shade of cream. It is comfortable to hold sitting down. The tuners are fine-Grovers. No upgrade needed there. I don'e think the set neck vs the bolt on would be a problem for most folks. Get one!

.I've got several other $,$$$ guitars at home, including a Gibson SG Standard. I bought this at a local shop because I'm living in a hotel for a few months for work, and am very pleasantly surprised by it. It has issues staying in tune and the plastic tip on the pickup switch broke off after about 3 weeks, but other than that it is a real joy to play. I've been playing it through a Roland Microcube, and the pickups actually sound pretty darn good, both clean and distorted. The action is not horrible either without a setup. I would definitely recommend this over a Squier to a beginner based on it's sound and build quality.

One irrelevant interesting thing I noticed was that the bridge is beneath the pickguard. I've not seen this on any other SGs (there may be some, but I've not seen them) and I find it's placement to be rather comfy.

.This is a nice starter guitar, but I recommend taking one step up to the G-400 because it has nicer tuners, nicer pickups, and a better neck. The bolt on neck on this guitar caused it to break when I left it in a car overnight. My mistake, but I'm sure a better guitar might have withstood it . Besides that, this is a great starter guitar.

.I have a black left handed G 310. Mine is used, and it would be pretty amazing if it was set up good and the tuners were swapped. When im not battling to keep it in tune, and when the neck isnt bending and putting it out of tune from little pressure, it sounds pretty good!

I changed the bridge pickup on mine (highly suggested), and now it sounds like a real SG. Im a hard/blues rock and rockabilly/country guitar player, and it gets the job done if you have some patience. Thats all I can really say about it.
Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar Ebony
.Overall, this guitar is pretty good. Replacing the pick ups might be something you would need to do. Other than that, this guitar rocks! Check out my video demo for this guitar!

I traded an Epi 5 string banjo for my 310, and I can say it's the best decision I've ever made in my music career. The action is a little high for some, but in return, it's the only guitar-sub $500 that didn't have a dead fret anywhere on the neck. An excellent guitar for chords or solos alike. Bends are beautiful on this. The pickups are hot, but also surprisingly clean. I have a 66' SG-400 reissue as well, though I find myself playing this one more.
Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar Ebony
.Not a bad guitar sounds decent alder body bolt on neck kind of reminds me of some fender models when it comes to material, that's not a bad thing. Playability is great. My tuning peg broke but an easy fix this guitar is worth the money but upgrade the tuners , bridge pup eventually and this would play and sound like a more expensive guitar. I have had mine over 6years tuning peg and pick up all replaced looks great the red is very red though but this is a great guitar for the money and easy to upgrade
