Product Description

The new GP-10 puts a universe of amazing tones and tunings at your command, all in one compact processor that's affordable and easy to use. With a Roland GK-compatible pickup on your guitar, the GP-10 lets you transform your sound into numerous classic electric and acoustic guitar types, basses, and even analog-modeled synths, including the legendary Roland GR-300. Not stopping there, you have access to instant altered tunings, including popular open tunings, 12-string tones, and "down" tunings that are essential for today's ultra-heavy rock styles. The versatile GP-10 also functions as a full-featured multi-effects processor for both GK and normal pickups, giving you a huge selection of COSM amps and effects for live playing and studio recording. In addition, USB connectivity lets you capture GP-10 tones directly into your DAW, and you can even play computer-based soft synths from your axe with the GP-10's guitar-to-MIDI convertor!

Depending on your needs, the GP-10 is available by itself (GP-10S), or with a Roland GK-3 Divided Pickup and 13-pin cable included in the box (GP-10GK). If you already have a GK-3 on your guitar-or if you have an instrument such as the GC-1 GK-Ready Stratocaster with a GK pickup built in-you'll want to choose the GP-10S. If you want to use the GP-10's modeling functions and you don't have a GK-3, the GP-10GK is the way to go. The GK-3 is quick and easy to install on your favorite electric guitar with no modification needed.

Instant access to down tunings, open tunings, 12-string sounds, and your own custom tunings Instrument modeling powered by COSM technology, including conventional electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, plus sitar, banjo, fretless guitar, and others Analog guitar synthesizer modeling driven by real-time DSP allows you to play expressive, ultra-responsive synth tones Create totally new sounds by blending modeled and normal guitar tones together High-quality COSM amps and multi-effects derived from the GT-100 13-pin input for guitars equipped with a Roland GK-3 Divided Pickup or other GK-compatible pickup Standard 1/4-inch guitar input allows for use of amps and effects with any guitar USB audio/MIDI interface for multi-channel audio recording (including individual string output) and guitar-to-MIDI conversion with GK pickup BOSS TONE STUDIO editor/librarian for Mac/Windows and custom patches available at bosstonecentral.com Available with or without a GK-3 Divided Pickup

I never thought I would replace my whole rig with a small little pedal. Make sure to set your system settings accurate for GK pickup and you are set. Boss Tone Studio is amazing and makes setting up patches a breeze. Very easy to navigate the simple menus on the fly at shows too. Just love it! Working musician can't go wrong with this Complete Rig that you can carry in a small gig bag. Amps and modeling have excellent feel.

.the 13 pin cable is extremely fragile. i have handled it very carefully but still one end has been damaged. at the moment i have to jiggle it when i insert it into the gp10 , i then tape it in place . when the connection isnt solid i lose volume on the G string .i have discovered that this is a common occurance and have already purchased a back up cable.

.I bought it primarily for it's ability to change guitar to lower tunings instantly and not having to deal with slackened strings. However I found that this could only be done with guitars without effects (like chorus delay reverb etc), i.e, the martin and gibson acoustics.so I found a way around it .Start with one of the acoustic guitars go in and change it to an electric guitar (I picked a modern strat) thru the modeling/alt tune button . Now change the tuning (I changed to DADF#AD for the tune "sailing" by chris cross) using the alt tuning "user". Now write (send) this to an available empty patch.Once there you can now add effects, (there may be an easier way to do it but i couldn't find it and this works). A word about adding the effects . I originally wanted to use patch #82 [GT] CLEAN 2 for this open tuning so i went into the patch and wrote down just about every effect it used and all their settings -a daunting task.i then added most of them to the new patch it came out sounding just like the original. Needless to say this is a special piece of Boss technology

.I am updating my gear to complement my VE-8 and SY-300 for live performances. The Gk side will go towards performance tracks and the input side will reinforce the acoustic use of my J-45. The vocalist needs a guitar input so the thru will provide that signal. The sounds are quite clever and with a little tweaking are extremely useful.
I love the colors that it adds to my sound and sometimes I just add a small undertone while I play. I like the guitar to be the main voice with the effects in subtle amounts. I often practice with a Trio+ laying down bass and drumparts. Alas, three piece rock Police style.

.I am a "weekend warrior" professional musician, playing for about 25 years. I do bar gigs and occasional festivals 2-3x/month.
I added this to my pedalboard to be able to switch between acoustic sounds and electric sounds within the same song. The tracking of the pickup is fantastic and I think that the sounds are quite good. The one exception being when using a transposed 12 string sound, the octave is obviously synthesized. However, 12 string in standard tuning is great and I will probably be selling my 12 string electric now.
Three things would make this close-to-perfect for me: 1) an XLR output and 2) the ability to switch to dry guitar sound via a 1/4" output so I can send regular guitar signal to my amp rig via one of the pedals. Currently, I am using both the Midi pickup and plugging my regular guitar output into the amp rig. I turn each sound up/down independently using volume pedals. 3) Regular MIDI in/outs with 5 pin connectors.
Mounting the GK3 pickup on a tuneomatic style bridge is a piece of cake with the included hardware.
80s people: put in a open D tuning on the Strat sound, add chorus and reverb, and play the intro to "Sailing" by Christopher Cross (SOUNDS FANDANTASTIC!!)
