Late 80s ZION Radicaster –“ClosetCaster”
Near Mint!
First off, I want to honor the builder of this amazing
guitar Ken Hoover. Ken’s patient endurance in suffering is an example to me
personally and an example of Christ reflected through him. God bless you ken!
Zion guitars from this era are prized for there tone,
playability and most notably their necks making them the most amazing feeling
guitars ever built IMHO. The attention to detail in the neck dress, frets and
neck shape are peerless even in guitars from Suhr, Tom Anderson, Tyler, Tuttle
etc. I would know, I have been
blessed to own them all. You will not find a better playing guitar with better
action and intonation anywhere. As
all guitarists know, “feel” is the most important and individual ingredient for
translating personal style into tone. This guitar allows for seamless
integration, you feel one with this guitar. It’s very inspiring to play, it has a vibe to it that is
akin to vintage strats of the 50s –not even Fender can recapture that mojo!
Nuts and bolts…
These guitars were built one at a time to spec. This one has Fender
classic saddles/trem that is still as smooth as ever. The pickups are Rio
Grande Single coils (not sure of the model) but they sound amazing, slightly
hotter than a Vintage set –they sound amazing in this guitar! Basswood Body, Maple neck, RW board locking sperzels.
–Gorgeous metallic lime finish.
Case is not original but it’s a top of the line GG Fender case $169.
Condition is excellent. This guitar was well cared for and
the decades have been very kind to it. No neck pocket stress cracks (RARE) no
chips or dings, just a really, really well cared for vintage guitar.
