Rickenbacker's trademark "checkered" black and white binding set off the body, while white binding graces the neck. The 660 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the vintage reissue series, complete with Rickenbacker's own vintage reissue-type pickups. Includes case.

I can't believe no one has pick up the two that are left here. This guitar has got mojo oozing from it! Just another great example of Rickenbacker quality. For those of you who have been thinking about a RIC but thought the finger boards where to skinny, this one has a wide fingerboard and easily playable. The pickups ring in true Ric toaster sound. I am completely satisfied with this purchase. IMO, you can't go wrong with one of these!

.Great guitar if you know how to use it!

It has a bit of a learning curve. It most likely won't be as easy to pick up and play as a Strat or a Les Paul if that's what you're used to. Don't let that deter you though, once you really figure out how to use it well, it'll give you some of the best tones you could ask for. But I personally highly recommend you try before you buy.

The build quality is phenomenal, especially compared to other companies. It's built like a tank and feels like it'll last forever. May need a little setup as the one I bought was a bit buzzy (fixed by putting on flat wounds). Other than that the playability is great. The 660 actually has a wider nut width than most other Rick models, making it easier to play for those with larger hands and those new to Rickenbacker.

This thing sounds amazing with some tweaking of amps. With this guitar, it's ALL about finding the right spot, which may take a little time. The vintage toasters are pretty low output single coils and sounded kind of thin and tinny on my Fender 59' Bassman (to me anyway). However when I put it through a darker voiced amp (Orange) and stuck flatwounds on it, it sounded exactly like I wanted it to. Once you find the right amp and settings, there's really no genre of music this thing can't tackle. The bridge pickups sounds like your typical jangly Rickenbacker tone, the middle position with the blend knob turned so the neck pickup is dominant sounds almost Gretschy, and the neck pickup sounds like a really thick Strat pickup, great for blues stuff (I got better Hendrix tones out of my Rickenbacker than I did my strat on the neck pickup). Takes overdrive very well and sustains for days due to its neck through construction. I was actually pretty shocked how versatile this guitar was. I got tones I never thought were possible out of a Rickenbacker.

Overall, I'd say this is a great guitar for the open minded!

.well, earlier i did a review on my 660. gave it great reviews too. however after a little more than one month of use,, i realized that the lead pickup didn't have the rickenback tone. yesterday the lead pickup died. great i'm on disability and don't have a lot of quid do it took me 5 years to sav the quid for a ric and this has to happen. think lng and hared before you buy one....
