I recently ordered some guitar stuff for myself and drum items for my son and read a lot of reviews when shopping and appreciate those who reviewed and pay it forward. I have only had this pedal a couple days and also got an amp from another place so am still dialing in the amp and pedal. I can say already that this model of the pedal is perfect and can dial in a variety of overdriven tones. I didn't want a metal sound or a fuzz sound but I wanted to be able to dial in either if I wanted. I took a chance hoping to find one pedal that had 80s distortion, 70s fuzz, rock or shredding metal tone if dialed in the right amp. This is hat pedal! Everything is in this black pedal. Sturdy construction as I expected from EH...Top Boost is really cool and gives you 3 different E.Q. curves to find a tone and distortion level. This to me is the best part about this pedal and with control of volume, tone and distortion I think I can pull my own tone from this pedal.

.This isn't something I expect to use all the time. I needed a little reinforcement for rhythm situations where I need amounts of gain and sustain that I can't get out of vintage pedals, classic valve distortions, or the amps own preamp distortions. I use this on a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe paired with either an Ibanez Semi-Hollow or a Washburn with really hot Seymour Duncans. It's metal distortion. My favorite feature is the distortion (Gain) knob. It's useless decoration in most other similar pedals I've owned, offering almost zero variation in tone. But here, I get to start where my other standard rock pedals end, and THAT is HUGE for me. I can put 3 or 4 pedals in my chain to go from an Ibanez tube screamer to an MXR overdrive or a Hardwire Valve Distortion. In both cases, the gain on those pedals stops just shy of "shred." So this pedal STARTS there and goes up into the metal shredding territory precisely the way it's supposed to do it. It has additional features like the frequency boost/cutters and the volume knob. It's built tough in a metal chassis and it's priced nicely. At this price and for with the compact design, it's perfect for me. The sound is excellent - everything cuts through. I've used Digitech's Death Metal and Metalmaster products. I used an Ibanez Smash Box and heard an MXR Fullbore and Boss Metal core. This pedal gets the job done at a great price. If you're looking for articulate metal with headroom, versatility and tweakability at an easy price, check this one out.

.Fixed all my distortion problems. My mother does'nt complain about my music sounding off anymore.I would gig with this box anywhere!
Electro-Harmonix XO Micro Metal Muff Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal
.I was in a guitar shop one day and I said to the employee, "I want a pedal that will make me sound like James Hetfield." Without hesitation, he grabbed the Micro Metal Muff. My first thought was, "How can something so small give me the Drivng Heavy Metal sound I want?" Just to be nice, I tried it anyway...THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE! I dialed in hordes of heavy, crunchy tones, even though I was playing on a crappy les paul copy and a mediocre amp. Plenty of crunchy, chunky, heavy distortion. Not to mention the top boost! Set it to low for a little extra push or throw it into high for a giant breath of treble into your sound....or just leave it off. Plenty of power and tonal opportunities... If your looking for a Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, or anything else with a little to a lot of Crunchy Rhythms and Scorching Leads, THIS IS YOUR PEDAL!

.This is the best sounding metal pedal I've ever used! Electro Harmonix comes through again! Awesome Pedal!

.Great little Metal pedal.
Electro-Harmonix XO Micro Metal Muff Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal
.This pedal is amazing! I had been using a Big Muff Pi for about a year before I picked up this little monster, and the difference is immediately noticeable. With the Big Muff, you can really pull off mega stoner-rock fuzz, but that?s about all you can do with it. With the Micro Metal Muff, you can still get a dirty, fuzzy tone, but you don?t lose all those notes doing it. You can clearly hear every note of a sweep n full distortion, palm mutes are extra chunky, and harmonics just fly out of this mother, all things the Big Muff Pi couldn?t really do that well. The controls are simple; volume, tone knob for the mids, and distortion. Pretty simple. . I can?t really talk much about the price, because I picked this up used for about forty bucks, but I would have definitely paid the extra twenty. If you're looking for a super-metal pedal, be sure to check this out.

.I purchased this pedal looking for a high gain distortion pedal to add to my visual Sound overdrive. This pedal was way to "tinny" and high pitched for my tastes. Especially for the music I was playing. Even with the tone and distortion turned down to about 8 o'clock the pedal wasn't pleasing me...at all. It sounds good with power chords and gives a huge roaring chord, but a lot of little notes get lost in the midst of it because of the such high gain. I like how the pedal Son of Hyde made by Visual Sound better.

.The mini metal muff is a fantastic little piece of equipment that is a great bang for your buck. It does lack some of what the actual Metal Muff has, but since this sucker has the top boost switch to alternate your sound in a delicate way, it does just fine for it's price. But if you want to spend just a few bucks more then you might as well go for the Metal Muff, but this baby does just fine if you're looking to spend less money
Electro-Harmonix XO Micro Metal Muff Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal
.I bought this pedal because I didn't need the full Metal Muff, yet I didn't want the pocket size because of the sounds I heard from it. So this was exactly what I needed and a little more. Plus it fits on a board so that's nice too. I would recommend this to anyone who wants metal sound without going overboard.
Three konbs. Simplified controls are great and are easy to tweak for a great sound.
Die cast box? Yeah it'll prolly see some abuse and take it just fine.
A lot of metal for the price. I was happy with my purchase and don't see any remorse in the near future.
