The YEP-8425 Series Compensating Euphonium is an instrument designed with the virtuoso in mind. Professional features such as longer bow guards and an open design gold brass leadpipe set this euphonium apart from the competition. I have played them all and this is the ultimate horn. There are significant differences between the 842 and 642 (an excellent euph). Minor intonation problems in earlier s (flat middle C) have been fixed. A different lead pipe and bell give this horn a lively sound and quick response. There isn't a horn out there that "slots" as well as the 842.Only drawback is the monel valves. I wish would go with stainless pistons.
