The Ibanez SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner offers phase reverse for feedback reduction, as well as enabling easy sonic manipulation using the 3-band EQ and tone shaper. In addition to the 1/4" output jack, a balanced XLR jack is included for direct connection to the PA system.

I looked at this guitar for one reason - fingerpicking! The neck at the nut is 45mm or ~1/16" wider than most guitars (all steel-string Ovations that I've played and owned). Someday I would like a D18 with its wide, beautiful neck, but in the meantime this guitar has turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I've used it live and enjoyed the sound with little signal processing. Without being plugged in, the sound is good, but the body does not project a full acoustic sound (low end is lacking) but plugged in you can compensate for this. The action on the model I own is a little high as I move up the neck, so I'll be taking it to a luthier to see if it can be adjusted. The neck is great; straight, but a little thick. I would suggest that you play it before you dismiss this guitar. This is not like many of the other Ibanez acoustic/electrics in this price range. I am thinking of getting another one for alternate tunings. I consider this a good value for the money.

.To add to previous review. The longer I have it the more I love it. MY AC240 EOP came with an extra compensated saddle. I removed the existing one along with the spacer under the saddle and replaced it with the lower saddle and the action is perfect for me. So easy and no sanding down a saddle is necessary. Now at the 12th fret the action is about the width of a a nickel. I like the fact that its a little smaller than most, with a big sound and a wider nut width. Also came with a truss rod tool which has not been needed yet. Ibanez has really done a great job on this one. For a pro or just for fun , this one is for sure a keeper. Buy it and you will not regret it.

I have played much more expensive guitars and for the money this one is awesome. I don't like where they put the forward strap button, but that's an easy fix. I like the XLR output. I was surprised to get this guitar off the UPS truck on a 93 degree day and open it to find only one string slightly out of tune. Thanks to MF for fast delivery.

.I was looking for a smaller bodied acoustic electric for recording purposes when I came across this guitar from musicians friend. It plays beautifully and with almost no effort. I like the plain mahogany wood from my other glossy acoustics. I Ibanez hit a home run with this little gem. I was considering a Taylor for a few hundred more but the reviews for this Ibanez were all positive so I took a leap of faith. I wonder how much a case would be ?

.I played this in another store about a year ago, then ordered this on a special sale price. Great little guitar, all wood top, open pore finish, it will only get better with more playing and with age. Plays nice right out of the box, action seems fine to me for an acoustic setup. I wanted the electronics for small venues that I play occasionally, and this fits the bill nicely. Nice width at nut for finger style.

.i ordered one and it arrived, but the wood grain looked weird so i sent it back to get one that looked more like the picture, so don't think you're going to get the EXACT guitar you are thinking of.

this guitar reminded me of playing a Taylor acoustic. the quality and tone are near the same but for a fraction of the price of a taylor. also, the built in tuner and the XLR input make performances more convenient.
