Amp Models:

Clean

Red LED: Crisp, shimmering clean tones and warm jazz tones.
Green LED: Glassy clean tones like those from the late 60s/early 70s. Inspired by a '73 Hiwatt Custom 100.

Twang

Red LED: Classic, glassy high-end with some snap and bite. Inspired by a Fender blackface '65 Twin Reverb and a blackface '64 Deluxe Reverb.
Green LED: Swingin' rockabilly tone a la vintage tweed. Inspired by a '53 Fender tweed Deluxe Reverb, a '58 Fender tweed Bassman, and a '60 Gibson Explorer.

Blues

Red LED: From gritty, swampy clean tones to syrupy smooth drive tones this was inspired by a mix of a '65 Marshall JTM-45, a '58 Fender Bassman, a '63 Fender Vibroverb, and a Supro.
Green LED: Early British rock tone made famous by the Beatles and the Stones. Inspired by a fawn Vox AC-30 with an updated and expanded tone control circuit.

Crunch

Red LED: Classic crunchy tone popularized by many early metal bands. Inspired by a '68 Marshall Plexi 50-watt.
Green LED: The infamous brown sound inspired by a '68 Marshall Plexi 100-watt with a few added extras - jumped input channels and a Variac transformer.

Metal

Red LED: Tight and punchy high-gain sound inspired by a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier.
Green LED: Use this for aggressive high-gain sound. The mid knob sweeps the tone spectrum. Set to minimum for fuzz-pedal characteristics, set to noon for creamy, modern high-gain, or crank it for Class A carnage.

Insane

Red LED: Famed and feared bone-crushing, brain-piercing grind inspired by the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier red channel.
Green LED: Short of a complete meltdown, this provides as much input-gain distortion as possible while retaining tonal definition and character.

The Spiderjam lives up to its' advertising on all points-is easy to use, and a value among modeling amps. Its' recording in/out feature is worth the price of admission alone!
The Line 6 spiderjam lives up to all the hype-and then some! The amplifier models have the richness and depth of the differing models they were composed from, with extensive tone capabilities from the intuitive controls, right on top of the amplifier where they should be! Anything from warm and supple jazz cleans to the nastiest metal or shred is only a quick dial turn away! Drive and master controls are immenently useful and straightforward. And, there is a built in chromatic tuner!
The onboard effects-reverb, chorus, delay, etc.- are good, solid, and thoroughly useful, and the dial controls offer many shades of tone variation within the effect. In addition, The amplifier models each have a preset within these to make that particular model sparkle, although you can change it over to your own setting with a mere turn of the dial. In addition, there are good onboard equalizers and other great tone controllers/enhancers that really make recording with Spiderjam a dream! (More about recording later!)
The presets- song based, artist based, time period based, style based,- and the jams, drum loops, and tone presets thereof; are a complete and joyful trip in themselves! They are adjustable in pitch by moving up or down in half-tone increments (Be forwarned; the one caveat: move them up too much and they will get a helium effect-the beat tempo goes up with the key change, but again, no-one else seems to be able to stop this on these stand alone units, either!) and there are literally hundreds of choices, be you a rock, jazz, country, alt player, or any style in between! All of them are real band jams, and are professionally produced and performed. I'm still trying them out, but all I've tried have been great!
The recording and looping features are one of the top reasons to buy this baby-they perform as advertised, and more! Good clean recordings, with natural sound, whether on your own, or using the built-in jams! Inputs are available to run in other instruments (even keyboards!) or a microphone-you could create a convincing demo with this, and then burn it to c.d. with the aux out provided for that purpose! And as well, a whopping 30- plus minutes of recording time! A joy to practice with! I played a recording I made with it of a jazz piece, for a classic era jazz fan, and they couldn't believe the authentic tone!
The Spiderjam is a very solidly built amplifier, too, and its' 12 inch Celestion custom speaker, and 2 inch tweeter, can handle it, and dish it out! It can very convincingly convey the tones of even an acoustic/electric guitar, better than many more expensive amplifiers. At 75 watts, it will be a formidable club gigging amp!
I could go on and on, but, may I refer you to the Line 6 web site, as well as many video demonstrations on the web elsewere, and I think you will be convinced as I was. This is my amp, Line 6 is pointing the way to the future, and my next stop will be a Line 6 Tyler variax!
Thank you Line 6, for the best amp I've ever owned, and thank you Custom Guitars friend, for the great deal, and fast, free shipping! Rock on, everyone!
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.I've only had this amp for a month but I'm loving it so far ! The first time I used it I jammed for 3 hours straight. The jam tracks are fantastic for building your chops. You can adjust the key or tempo to any of the built in songs. There are plenty of usable tones & it's easy to dial in an acceptable sound for most any genre. I haven't even begun to tap into all the capabilities of this unit. There is a learning curve as with any software based music gear so you have to read the manuals to learn how to operate it. I do not have a foot pedal & I'm getting along just fine for jamming, recording, & practicing. This amp doesn't have enough power for a performance amp but it does have plenty of volume for jamming at home, garage , etc. I wish it would accept a higher capacity SD card as they fill up pretty quick. It's a great tool for capturing your song ideas, learning cover material (just load your songs & practice away. This is hands down the best learning tool I've encountered. I'm 54 & have been playing since I was 17. I'm an experienced hobbyist that has owned many guitars, amps & recording gear over the years. Want to hear a sound sample ? I recorded a guitar part to one of the jam songs entitled Unexcited. The song is based on BB's The Thrill Is Gone. It's in Bm. I increased the tempo. I added one guitar part to the backing track that consisted of bass, drums, & keys. I used a Squire Affinity Strat, fresh out of the box (not setup yet). You can go to this website> reverbnation dotcom. Search bruce landis. The song is at the top of the page. It's called SpiderBlues-01. This will give you an inkling of what is possible with this unit.

.Well, I bought the Spider Jam because I wanted a studying/practicing tool to use quietly at home, even with headphones on, but that could allow me to go full blast when I felt like too. I also wanted a looper for my riffs, a drum machine, a tuner - all in a single package, and... You guessed. Line 6's Spider Jam can do all those things easily. Note that I do have a respectable collection of "boutique" amps, effects and guitars, but with a busy professional, non-music-related life, it's just too much of a hassle to unpack all those pedals and chain them together, and tube amps are NEVER quiet enough to play at home, especially at night. Being a solid state amp, Spider Jam allows me to play without disturbing the neighbors, and, in the wee hours, I can just plug my headphones in and I'm good to go for hours and hours. Besides all of that, Spider Jam has EXCELLENT jam tracks that you can use for practicing, which you can control speed and pitch INDEPENDENTLY! It also has a built-in tuner, decent digital effects and the reverb is controlled by a knob in the front panel, just like a regular amp. Seriously, I can't stress enough how much this marvelous tool made my life easier as far as practing and having fun at home is concerned. I recommend it even for those who have serious gear at home. You just can't beat the simplicity and convenience that Spider Jam can provide!
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.I just bought this amp with the Line 6 FBV short board; they work well together of course. The amp is a lot of fun with the looper and presets and the endless ways you can tweak your tone. I love the amp but there are a few things which could be better.

You must use a 2 gig or smaller SD card or it reboots if you try to save to a bigger card. So just get a bunch of small Sd cards before they are unavailable--only a few places still have them--which is kind of a pain.

It does record nice but I haven't figured out how to record the mic input and the guitar input at the same time, so I always have to do two tracks. There is a switch which switches the input for recording back and forth from mic input to guitar jack.

With the short board you can turn the looper and presets on on the fly, but you must put the foot pedal in the recording mode, and when the FBV is in the record mode you have to switch it back to channel mode to switch different guitar tones. So to switch to a different guitar tone you have to do another track to reset it.

Anyway, I just thought these few drawbacks could have been easily figured out and fixed. Hopefully the next generation can take the more available SD cards, record more than one track at a time, and make the FVB do all the functions in one mode.

However, it's nice having all the gimmicks for having fun in one package. Even thought I give it four stars instead of five, it "is" worth the low price, and I would buy it again knowing what I know now.
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.Frankly I own a lot of Line 6 gear from a Pocket Pod tucked in a guitar case as a mobile practice rig to my stage set up of POD XT Live gear. I have taken to this amp like a duck to water follows the classic Line 6 logic when it comes to tweaks and changes ( though not much is needed) a bump of a knob here a scroll of a menu there and presto... TONE. I purchased it with an elevated stand so it is comfortable and easy to use I also bought the MkII shortboard but after a 2 weeks still haven't plugged it in to see what else remains in this little powerhouse. Order the 2G SD cards online they are cheap and plentiful, (you probably won't find any in a local store) I dig this amp keeps me up late working on new ideas and grown' notes, uploaded without issue to my PC. inputs are awesome... No complaints (well wish it had a cover but a girlfriend is making me a custom one so...) 5 stars and an A++ for Line 6 Spider Jam!
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.I have not gigged with it yet, although for small-medium stages this will fit great. I don't like the tube amps and pedal systems most people seem to go for. This amp is perfect for simplicity, you can build in so many settings and then use a footswitch to switch between 4 channels at a time (comes with wah and volume pedal too both are quiet good) It takes a while to get a perfect tones you want, but you definitely can. I go for the nice Dream Theater tone and surprisingly got very close to the sound. Unless you can afford a Mesa, this amp is great. SO many build in drum tracks/songs to jam with as well.
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.This amp is good for the bedroom guitarist or somebody that never plays out and could benefit to have the backing tracks. This amp will not impress the seasoned guitarist and will not surprise you on the quality. It's exactly what you would expect from a Line6
The basics are easy to work. You can start a backing track, record yourself playing with it, and can adjust the tone pretty quickly. It takes a lot more time and effort to dial in the right tone. You can get close very easy, but dialing it in is pretty difficult.
I will give it credit, the reverb is very impressive compared to what I was expecting.
Not bad, not Good, for the money I'd look around for something a little different.
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.This is more than I ever expected in a small practice amp. I can put on my head phones and play for hours no need to call in the band. This is a great way for just you and the bass man to tighten up and improve your playing skills. The loops are endless and makes recording and writing your own music fun and easy. Only had it for a week or two, so I still have a lot to learn about this awesome masterpiece. This is what I've been needing for years and didn't no anything like this existed. If you are a beginner or seasoned man this is for you. Thank you Line 6
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.Here it is, this amp is a blast if your playing at home by yourself or with a friend. The recording function is great to record your own stuff, plus you can overdub on-top of yourself (awesome) Great fun plus the tuner is amazing. Downside... the sounds are really generic. You won't find "your sound" on this amp. It's just kind of blah when it comes to the sounds. The back tracks are fun and this amp is a blast to jam to! If you're looking for a fun practice amp, buy this one. If you're looking for a performance amp with power, pass this one up.
Line 6 Spider Jam 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
.The Spider Jam is an amp I could recommend to anyone. If you need your boutique tube amps get them. I've played for 43 years and I find the tone quality to be outstanding. A rich full bodied tone can be easily dialed in with a touch of good delay or reverb to please any professional. You can jam with the onboard band or jam alone with high quality drum tracks. The playback recordings of your guitar are high quality. Can't tell if it's live or recorded. A great purchase for anyone. I play an American Standard Strat or Telecaster.
