This Godin A5 SA 5-string fretless bass features endless sonic possibilities brought to you by Custom Godin electronics. The 5-string Godin bass comes equipped with individual saddle transducers at the bridge and a 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synths.
The Godin A5 SA Ultra fretless bass features a solid spruce top, for balanced sound reproduction. The silver leaf maple body adds strength and clarity to the acoustic-electric bass's sound. The rock maple neck adds plenty of sustain and definition from note to note. The 5-string bass's soft C neck, cutaway on the upper bout, and 16" radius add comfort for intricate progressions.
Incredible acoustic bass sounds are available through the Godin bass's 1/4" output jack and controlling your tone is made easy with the custom Godin preamp section voiced specifically for the A5 SA. The 2-chambered body design found in all of the A-Series instruments is also at work in the A5 SA bass. This design resists feedback as well as the negative effects that loud stage levels can have on top vibration. The Lace Sensor low profile bridge pickup and side-mounted tone and volume controls reproduce and amplify your sound with natural-sounding clarity and dynamics.

One of the nicest basses I've played, very fast, but very heavy, could be tiring after 4 hours. Have a stool handy. The set up and action on the neck is perfect, intonation all the way up the neck is right on the mark and perfect by the tuner. The bass sounds great on it's own, now I'm working with a Roland GR55 which isn't easy to set up with a bass, but I'm getting there, mostly user error. It's obvious Godin put some thought into this guitar. Listed as acoustic / electric, I can practice on my own without an amp, but add an acoustic guitar next to you and you need amplification.
