Up for sale is a rare Kraken Custom Guitar, purchased at the Nakwon Music Mall/Arcade in South Korea, the world's largest music store.
I was visiting my grandma in Korea a couple years ago, and my mom told me about the big music store there, and to go check it out when I had some time. Curiously enough, I was in the market for a Les Paul type guitar (LP was my first guitar, and I kinda have a soft spot for em :D ), saw a Les Paul one in red with a floyd rose on it, and picked it up and played on it for a bit, but didn't feel right and as I put the red one down the sales guy asked if I had time to check another one out, and he brought out the green one you see here. I jammed on it for about an hour, loved it, and left Korea with it.
The sales guy that worked there was telling me that Kraken makes all of Schecter's Korean made guitars; so if you have a Korean Schecter and have felt that level of quality (a level or two below Japanese, far superior to Chinese and Indonesian), then you have a rough idea of what you're dealing with here.
*Disclaimer: I don't know if what he said is true or not, but the quality feels great, and I wanted a high quality overseas guitar for cheaper without paying shipping and associated costs, not to mention the case was bitchin.*
I am letting it go because I have a preference for necks with a thickness of 17mm-19mm, due to my play-style evolving (I don't play thumb over the top as much anymore, and am venturing into 7 & 8 string territory).
Now to the guitar itself:
The Legion 5 (if I recall correctly) is the actual name of the model of this Les Paul style guitar, and was their top of the line LP style due to it having gold hardware instead of chrome.
Beautiful flamed maple top with tastefully bursted green with gold hardware.
Standard "C" shaped neck, set neck construction for never ending sustain.
Pearl Inlays starting at 1st fret.
No buckle rash, just a lil bit of rust on hardware on bridge pickup from sweat from getting some miles in on this beast (still has some original plastic on the electronics cover!).
Everything is stock on this guitar, so if you wanted a secret weapon for recording to get a unique tone, or if you just wanted to pay for almost "Gibson" quality mahogany with maple top without paying 5-6 times as much and then put your own pickups in, this guitar is for you.
The guitar will come with a hardshell case ($100 value!), and your choice of Dean Markley Blue Steel Strings, Ernie Ball, or D'addario, all .09 gauge.
