Selling my Fender Mustang Bass. I bought it new to learn on in 2007 but I've moved on and it doesn't get played anymore. Overall condition is very good, there a couple of nicks shown in pictures. Always been adult-played, never used a pick, only gigged out a couple of times. It's set up how I like it with medium action, still on the original strings. They sound amazing!
Look around on eBay/Reverb and you will see the CIJ Mustangs selling for $800-900. Probably due to the popularity of the current MIM Mustang bass. I've played the new model and they do not compare. The new Mustang has a P/J setup and generic bridge. They cheaped out with the neck lacquer too. It's a parts-bin guitar. What I'm selling is a true reissue of the 1966 original:
30" scale (very easy to learn on or if you have small hands)
Vintage style bridge with string-thru body
High-gloss maple neck (super fast and fun to play)
Single Mustang-specific Seymour Duncan split-coil pickup (sounds far better than the current generic Fender pickups)
Crafted in Japan (new model is made in Mexico, CIJ is comparable to USA...some say better)
Easy bass to play if you're just learning. Tons of fun to shred on if you're more experienced. I need to make room and hope to find it a good home. Any questions, ask.
