Product Description

The original idea for the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Studio now has a thicker body that matches its namesake, hot open-coil Alnico Classic humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany body with carved top. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

I seriously looked for something to rate this guitar down on, but really would be stretching if I did so. I could live without the pickguard and would be glad to trade it for some nickel pickup covers, but I'd be nit-picking - those are personal preferences to me. But thus far, I've had nothing but great tone and a lot fun with the Les Paul Studio. I'd have to out it in a class by itself. Just a terrific guitar at any price-point.
First let me say, I've been playing electric guitars over 40 years, and have a pretty wide collection of guitars of all makes, (including an old EE-Epiphone-e US-Made model I bought in the 70s). I've wanted to add a Les Paul for a number of uses that my other electrics just don't address well. And, I was not disappointed. The EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio is made of top-grade woods, that exhibit great tonal characteristics. The pickups are outstanding. The neck profile is substantial, without being too chunky. And, the frets are a perfect size choice for an easy-to-play instrument, whether you're chrding or playing lead runs. I really wasn't looking for all the bells and whistles that you're able to get in the higher-end EE-Epiphone-e Les Pauls, just wanted all the good stuff that the Les Paul Studio has to offer.
The workmanship in my Les Paul Studio is top-notch. No issues whatsoever. In fact, I haven't had to touch the intonation at all. I particularly appreciate the new locking stop-tail and bridge design, that makes string-changes easier and improves tone. A terrific design that competitive guitars don't offer. I did change strings to a hybrid gauge that I use, but everything on my Studio, qaulity-wise, is top-notch.
I'm most disappointed that I didn't discover this model sooner. I'm waiting for EE-Epiphone-e to introduce more models like it, so I can add a couple more to my collection. The value is outstanding, considering you're in Squier (and other lower-tier makers) territory on price and I consider EE-Epiphone-e to be a higher-end product & design than the Squiers. Kudos, EE-Epiphone-e, for a terrific Les Paul, in an affordable (but fun-to-play and great sounding) package.

.This is a fine guitar. Low action, great sound and top knotch electronics. This guitar will serve all types including professionals. Anyone who says this is not comparable to a Gibson, is just upset they spent all the money. No, there are no bells and whistles, but, hey, we're rock stars...we don't need all that. This guitar will surprise you. You can get Gibson quality at a realistic price. Enjoy, newbies and vets.

.Overall, my EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio is my favorite guitar and the reasons are pretty simple. Every last inch of the guitar is practically perfect. There are some hardware/electronic upgrades that could make it even better, but it is completely suitable right out of the box. I bought it when I wanted to look and sound like all of my Les Paul wielding heros and over time the guitar made me feel like my own hero.
The features list of this guitar reads like it's big brother from Gibson, but with (considering the price range) an understandable drop in quality. I've owned my EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio for over 7 years, I have played the newer versions of the model since then and there are slight variations. The pickups, electronics, tuners and fretwork is essentially the same and still great. There isn't alot of information on the pickups, they could just be generic open-coil humbuckers. But regardless of origin or quality, they STILL sound great. Plenty of good harmonic response and even at high gain, chords don't sound muddy or weak. The Grover tuners hold tuning almost as good as locking tuners and the 14:1 ratio makes the whole process as easy as pie. The frets are the same size (6130) and possibly the same material as gibson. I have big hands and I am a pretty agressive player, on other guitars I've turned the frets into grooved wrecks, but these frets have survived 7 years of punishment. New features on the EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio include a slightly thicker body (which in my oppinion does wonders for tone) and a new EE-Epiphone-e designed LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece.
My EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio has never cut out mid song, i've never had a strap pin come loose, i've never had a busted jack and there isn't a single crack in the body. Typically people would read this and think "So you just leave it in the case and never play it ever". Those people are far beyond wrong, my les paul never saw the inside of a case for the first 5 years of ownership and I gigged with it around Southern California. I would just wrap it in a little blanket and throw it in the van. These things are built like tanks.
In terms of entry level priced instruments, the EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Studio doesn't suffer the pitfalls of the usual beginner guitar. A Les Paul with a set neck (incredibly crucial for tone in my oppinion) with nearly all the features of it's Gibson counterpart at a remarkable value. I've owned guitars of unarguabbly higher prices and better quality, but the epiphone is still my main guitar. It's a fine enough instrument that you can write your best songs and record with AND it's priced well enough that you can play the thing till it turns to splinters without it being a great financial loss.

.this guitar is amazing for everything . I traded an amp for this guitar and its simply amazing . i have sanded down frets , Seymour Duncans and its ever so great tuners that it comes with . i also have a sanded and waxed neck . With the little work that has been into this guitar its a beauty and i prefer this guitar over gibson les pauls . i love this guitar and is my first choice for everything

.First off let's get this straight. You are not going to find another legit Les Paul for this price, I got mine used from a private seller who has a small guitar shop. He had put some quality strings on and tweaked the set up a bit. I cannot find one fault with this thing! If it was going to fall apart it would have by now. It plays great, and has that classic Les Paul feel and weight. Sustain? Pluck a string, go to the kitchen, make a sandwich, come back and it's still ringing out! I might not buy this guitar on line, you might want to give it a once over before you commit, but I'm sure they would make it right if you got a lemon. If you don't care about the shiny new finish and pretty binding give this guitar a chance, it is very good looking in it's own right. If you want to spend over twice as much for a Gibson Studio then go right ahead but you are not going to get twice the guitar for your money.
Plain Jane guitar for when the only person you have to impress is yourself.
My fine tooth comb couldn't find one flaw. If you want to upgrade the electronics later, you can use the money you saved by buying an EE-Epiphone-e vs a Gibson Studio

.I got this as a graduation gift a couple years ago, and I really like it. Mine is arctic blue, which for some reason isn't available on here anymore, but it's a great guitar, no matter what color it is. It's great for jamming, and recording. (probably why it's called a studio) I've even played in a couple of concerts. The humbuckers sound really good through my randall amp, and has a nice playable neck. The action was set perfect for me when I got it, and even through the pretty much weekly climate changes of the mountains, I've never had to adjust it. All in all, great value for the money.

.My first Epi LP I installed Gibson '57 classic & classic plus in and changed out the pots, great sound.
My second I haven't changed anything-yet still debating as the original pickups sound great!
My third I am installing the Seymour Duncan Vintage Blues Set, see how it sounds.
The object was to have three different sounds to choose from and will possibly purchase a fourth black Epi LP, just addicted to these guitars and hardly pick up any of my expensive Gibson's and Fenders as I love these guys.

.was skeptical about buying on line, but this guitar came in a well protected package.opened it and was amazed.the guitar is well made, nice sound.was impressed with the action of this guitar,it is well worth the money!!!!
Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Ebony
.You guys should google"Made in China" you'd be amazed to see the Chinese manufacturers that are building and selling "Made in USA" Gibson Guitars.Ya think maybe we cut the wood here and ship it to China to be assembled. These guitars Gibson, EE-Epiphone-e, while QC is better on the Gibson the EE-Epiphone-e is still a great product.
